Alright soccer team!

We now have 6 members, more than enough to get ourseves out on the field! I'm giving all the students a break this week to celebrate the summer holiday and surrounding festivities. We regroup next Tuesday the 11th for the First Official Practice at 9pm! Those still interested, please sign up at the community: [info]cross_soccer.

In the meantime, you all enjoy yourselves and have a great 4th!

Uuuwaaaaaaa!!! I finally made it to America!!

I had to stay at a hotel last night after my flight got in uber late, but I woke up extra early this morning to go check into my new apartment. Everything looked exactly like in the pictures, which was nice. I've never moved into a pre-furnished place before(besides hotels), so it was odd not having to unpack more then my duffle bag. This place almost feels like a hotel...

Despite my late arrival for the summer term, I talked to the univeristy office and got the team registered to use the soccer field. Things are all set for next week, I'm so psyched!

With the rest of the day ahead of me, I think I'm going to explore the new city and try and get myself settled here in Cross.

Ken took a long swig from his water bottle, wiping some sweat off his brow in the harsh summer heat. "Uwaah!" he exclaimed, tired out from the end of his last soccer game. He sat on the sidelines, trying to ignore the buzz of reporters and fans and his coach, who was shouting obsenities. A few teammates wandered by to give a high five and quick 'congrats', and Ken waved his thanks politely.

Part of him was sad, he was leaving the League after 6 years. Ken could barely remember his life before soccer had become all-consuming, and he was nervous to be going into a different proffesion. Still, he was looking forward to a break. If things didn't work out, he could always come back here and be Ken Hidaka, star player for the J-League. He hadn't noticed a woman approaching him from behind until she tapped him on the shoulder. Ken turned to regard her only to have a microphone shoved in his face. He smiled, flashing his trademark grin at the camera as the interview began.

"Hidaka-san, tell us! Are the rumours true that this is your last season in J-League?" The over animated reporter asked with an eagerness only a journalist can possess. Ken flashed a smie, nodding to confirm the news.

"It's true. I've accepted a post teaching soccer at an American University for a year. But don't worry, you haven't seen the last of me!" He winked, but promptly blushed when some girls nearby squeeeed over him. He waved widely to them before trying to dissappear into the locker, protests following him the whole way.

"Wait, Hidaka-san, one more question..." the reporter trailed off, knowing she'd lost her prey.
